Single bed design which can become a double by adding five of the top row blocks to each side.

Another one like the first one, but I like the centre of this one more, and use the outer blocks of the first around the centre. I suspect that I have saved that idea somewhere in the rather large collection of quilt designs in this project file, but might add it again just in case.

I like the first design, but should have added a dark block to the centre.

I like to mix light, medium and dark in designs, and find it more interesting than I thought with just one of each rather than more of a mixture.

Way too busy … I think that 9×9 blocks is too many.

I find it a bit weird that most star blocks have a coloured star on a light background. There are very few stars seen during the daylight hours so I try to use dark backgrounds for star blocks.

I think I would need a lot more coffee to help me pick a favourite from this pair of designs.

A new set of blocks, a background fabric and light, medium and dark contrast fabrics. The corner of the blocks will be kept in the lightest contrast fabric, with the rest of the design in either the dark or medium fabrics.

The corner pieces in all the blocks are identical and meet to create a sort of corner block. Interesting!

But what if … I add sashing?

Mmm! I think I like it with sashing! Early days with project file, and I look forward to playing with these blocks.

Interesting. I have noticed that i am starting to use purple a lot. It was my Mum’s favourite colour, and I got to like it when I made my parents a quilt, and Mum got to choose the colours. I am going to have to add some different colours to some of the purple projects.

Regular visitors may have noticed that there are a lot of new pattern projects making their debut over the last few months. I was getting a bit tired of some of the project files I had started much earlier ...
